About the Author

William Conway is Senior Conservationist with the Wildlife Conservation Society, its former President and General Director, and the former director of the Bronx Zoo. His work has appeared in National Geographic, Animal Kingdom, Conservation Biology, and Science, among many other publications. Over the past four decades, Conway has been a constant and significant figure in the research and development of Patagonia's conservation reserves.
