About the Author

Cynthia Girling is an Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Oregon and the author of numerous publications and books including Yard, Street, Park (Wiley, 1996). Before joining the faculty of U. of Oregon, she was a practicing landscape architect in Canada and Oregon. Girling is the co-author of Skinny Streets and Green Neighborhoods: Design for Environment and Community.
