Development Assistant
Island Press, an environmental communications non-profit, seeks an assistant to aid in the maintenance and administrative functions of the Development and Programs Department. Major responsibilities include preparing correspondence with donors; maintaining files; tracking fundraising activities; conducting research; scheduling; and event planning. S/he will support the VP for Strategic Advancement and other members of the department. Candidates should have excellent organization and communication skills, experience working in a team; superior attention to detail; and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Internships
We generally hire interns for the fall, spring, and summer terms. We look for interns who are interested in learning about the book publishing field or have a specific interest in a particular publishing discipline. Candidates will be matched with the internship that best fits his/her interests and experience; however, you may note your preference. Recruiting will continue until all available positions are filled. Interns must be available to work 10-20 hours a week and some internships include a stipend of $60/week.

Program Intern - The Conservation Finance Network
The Conservation Finance Network (CFN) is a new multi-institutional effort based at Island Press in Washington, D.C. This program is designed to help conservation practitioners utilize innovative funding and financing strategies for land and resource conservation. We are seeking a Program Intern to assist with all aspects of the program, including research, website development, fundraising efforts, and strategic planning. The Program Intern will work closely with the Program Manager and Island Press' Development team to strengthen CFN's overall campaign. This is a 12 week, paid internship. Start and end dates are flexible, and compensation is commensurate with experience. The position is ideal for someone hoping to learn more about conservation finance tools and strategies.
